During the hiring interview process, we like to learn about who you are. This is perhaps more important than what your skill level is. Team chemistry is essential to us. We are currently considering candidates for upcoming openings as either apprentice level painters, or more experienced professional painters.

Candidates for the apprentice position will be taught all the basic skills of interior and exterior painting, with a particular emphasis on learning how to prepare surfaces to receive paint, and gradual transition into learning to properly spread paint and cut lines, etc. If you are enthusiastic, a good learner, and have a good eye for detail, this is a great opportunity. We have had much success in the past with beginners learning to paint and advancing at Topcoat.

More experienced candidates should understand that we do not hire subcontractors. We are looking for long term, full time employees. You will be expected to demonstrate your proficiency in a variety of paint skills. We have very particular processes that we use to achieve the exceptional results that we get, and no matter how you have done things in the past, if it is not consistent with the practices of our team, you will need to have an open mind to change. This is how people advance their skill levels and status as painters.
